Thank you so much for showing this cause and effect.

John Baucum says:

Great advice. We checked that and it was fine. Nice to know how to
troubleshoot things.

Nicholas Noel says:

I have an issue where when the dishwasher starts its cycle, we get a foul
smell coming out of the sink drains. I checked under the cabinet and the
hose coming from the dishwasher connects directly to the garbage disposal
unit. Is this causing our issue and how would we correct it?

Susie K Taylor says:

thank you!

Adam Henderson says:

Great Video, thanks for sharing this is exactly what was wrong with my Bosh
Dishwasher!

Madelene Towne says:

Thank you!!! My brand new Bosch dishwasher stopped working. After reading
the manual and spending the better part of the evening getting nowhere I
found your video and solved the problem in under 10 minutes.

Karl Grosh says:

thanks – this was helpful. I’ve had the problem with the hose in the past
(mine is to the disposal – which is the way to go). This time it was a
small chipped piece of a plate that was caught in the impeller (I had to
remove the plastic cover – and there it was).

Edward Peck says:

Didn’t take this seriously – and messed around with the dishwasher for ages
looking for other explanations for the problem. Finally came back to your
advice, corrected the host position, and it all started working properly
again. Thanks for posting.

flagface4 says:

Why not just run the discharge line from washer to disposal?? Problem
solved.

W6JHB says:

Really glad I came across this video. Our Bosch dishwasher developed the
non-draining issue last night. Checked and cleaned the three filters –
didn’t help. I unhooked the hose coming out of the unit and ran a cycle. No
joy – still didn’t drain. Was about to call a service guy to come out and
was prepared to drop at least $100 for the call when I did a Google search
on the problem. The IrixGuy mentioned looking at a possible jammed impeller
blade. Grabbed my torx screwdrivers, pulled the plastic cover, and – bingo!
There was a small piece of plastic with some strange furry stuff on the end
jammed into the impeller. A tug on it with a needle nosed pliers got it
out. I put it all back together and the dishwasher is now working properly.
THANK YOU for eh hint!!!

Thierry Allegrucci says:

Thank you! Saved me from calling a tech at 90$/h!

Thanks, it helped me a lot of!

CozmoZip says:

Super video! Guess many got that issue, I also have Bosh and seen that the
Error code E22 about cleaning the dishwasher filters, and like you the
problems was located like you are showing. I see you got a power plug and
with a power cord underneath your sink. That seems dangerous to me. 🙂
Hopefully you never got any issues with water are anything else liquid
together with that power plug.

mandybarney says:

Thanks man. I’m in Melbourne, Australia. I bought my (expensive) Bosch
dishwasher that kept giving me the dreaded E24 code! I opened the filter
and checked the impeller a couple of times – no dice. It had to be a water
back-up prob of some kind. Your clip made me have a look under my sink and
although it wasn’t that the waste pipe was hanging down (my main pipe had
an angled inlet so it had to be sticking up,) I removed it anyway and
investigated. Bingo! Too small hole filled with rice! Cheers!

Feels good doesn’t it? 🙂

margie chamberlin says:

I fixed the error code E24 on my Bosch dishwasher. It is a drain error
code. Dishwasher would not drain. I removed all water from the machine and
poured 1 cup of CLR where the water would normally drain. I let it sit for
1 hour and then turned the machine on for 30 seconds on the pots and pan
cycle and then let it sit 1 more hour to really let the CLR work. After the
last hour I ran my pot & pan cycle completely and the CLR unclogged the
pump.

crackface5 says:

Yup. I was almost forced to wait days to get the apartment maintenance man
in here and i thought, “you know what, bump this” got on youtube and you
saved the day. She came in looking impressed like *o wow, you fixed it*
then i just repeated language i heard in your video and sounded like i knew
what i was doing. “o yea if you look at the tube that leads into the
dishwasher, blah blah blah* LOL.

milly mila says:

Thank u. Ur video solved my problem

paxtoncamaro91 says:

why do you not have a air gap line or a high drain loop <--- google that or search on youtube ... and dude you have a garbage disposal which looks like a nice one like mine that top port on it is for the dishwasher so that all the food bits can get munched up and not clog your drains ...your fix needs work and its a quick fix at that to do it right

crackface5 says:

This baby fixed my dishwasher issue.
WOUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. Tube leading to
the dishwasher was hanging down. I pulled it to face upward and wow, no
more sink water leading into my dishwasher. Wouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!

Jackie Stefan says:

I CANNOT BELIEVE I FOUND YOU!!! I rotated the hose just like you said, and
now the dishwasher has actually been on ACTIVE cycle for about 7 minutes!
It was going straight to CLEAN and water wouldn’t drain! So, some repair
person would have come in here, acted like he was doing this and doing
that, and just turned the hose and charged me BIG BUCKS it’s working
now!!!! Thank you and GOD BLESS YOU!!!!
